Frikadel Beancurd

Bean curd or Tofu, is a product that is made of soy beans. You can cut the bean curd into small pieces and use it in a dish. Or you can ground them, add seasoning and make new shapes of the bean curd.

Ingredients:

  • 350 gr Beancurd, minced
  • 100 gr meat meat chicken, pork or beef
  • 2 tbsp (50 g) Kokita Essential Seasoning D Garlic
  • 1 1/4 tbsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 2 stalks spring onion fine chopped
  • 2 stalks celery fine chopped finely
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp oil
  • Makes approximately 25portions
Method:

Mix the minced beancurd, minced meat, Kokita essential seasoning D, salt, pepper, spring onion, celery and egg in a bowl. Use a  handheld mixer on medium stand and mix all ingredients until a mixture. The mixture should be like a stiff paste. Use a tablespoon to scoop the mixture and make small balls, slightly flatten and place it on a clean plate. Heat a pan with oil on a low to medium heat. To test if the oil is hot enough, carefully place one frikadel beancurd portion in the oil. When it starts to sizzle, the oil is hot enough to add more portions of the frikadel beancurd into the pan. Fry the portion on both sides until golden brown and place it on a paper towel to take away the excess oil.

Hot tip: Serve the portions on a bed of lettuce as a snack or for summery hors d'œuvre and sweet chili dipping sauce. Also tastes great cold!
