Indonesian Style Fish

 

A quick, simple and satisfying serving for those with a tender tummy. Enjoy the subtlety and simplicity of this fish dish.

Serves: 4  
Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Marinating Time: 15  
Cooking Time: 10 minutes 
  
Ingredients:
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil 
  • 1 tbsp Minced garlic 
  • 2 tbsp Minced ginger 
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice 
  • 600g Firm White Fish Fillets 
  • 4 tbsp ABC Sweet Soy Sauce (Kecap Manis)  

Method:

Preheat oven to 180°C. In a bowl, combine sesame oil, garlic, ginger and lemon juice. Add fish fillets, coating them well in the marinade. Set aside and allow to marinade for 15 minutes.

Place fish fillets in an oven proof dish and bake for 10 minutes or until cooked, basting with leftover marinade and turning over once. Once fish are fully cooked, transfer fish to a serving platter and drizzle with ABC Sweet Soy Sauce in a zigzag motion. Garnish with sliced chili and spring onion and serve with hot rice and Asian greens.

Cooking tip: Try the traditional cooking method for tasty favorite by wrapping the fish in banana or pandan leaves (available from your local Chinese shop) and grill for 15mins. The flavour of the leaves will infuse into the fish and keep the flesh firm and moist.
